I’m a senior at Verbum Dei Jesuit High School, raised in Compton in a hardworking Hispanic household. My experience at Verbum has taught me discipline, faith, and leadership through work and reflection. I help run my family’s dry cleaning business and also work at Troy Products through Verbum Dei’s Corporate Work Study Program, where I’m gaining real-world job experience. Outside of school and work, I build my passion for cars with my dad, choreograph traditional dances with my older brother, and support my brother and sister-in-law with their side hustle — a business that rents Marquee letters and event supplies. I plan to study Business Administration and Accounting to open my own business one day and give back to my community.
